Friendship is Magic(Part 2), Episode 2 of Season 1

As Nightmare moon laughs evilly and flies away, Twilight returns to the library searching for more information about the Elements of Harmony while Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity follows. They locate a book called: The Elements of Harmony: A reference guild which tells them there are 6 elements and they are:  Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Honesty, Loyalty, and an "unknown element triggered by a "spark". The Elements are located in a castle in the Everfree forest, a place where weird things happen. As the ponies plan the trip, Nightmare Moon in the form of  a cloud overhears them talking and gets a head start for the Everfree Forest.

While they walk in the forest, the group comes across an avalanche that knocks all the ponies down a cliff except for Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, the pegusi which pulls the rest of ponies except for Twilight Sparkle which Applejack saves but she couldn't pull her up so she lets go and Twilight falls but Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash catch her.




Nightmare Moon, the one who caused the avalanche, turns into a thorn and sticks herself into a manticore's paw. The group, who later stumbles across the manticore, fights it but they couldn't let the manticore let them pass. Fluttershy who was in the background yells for them to stop but since her voice is so timid they don't hear her until she screams. Right after Fluttershy comes up to the manticore, the rest of the group looks away as Fluttershy takes the thorn out. After they find out she's okay, Twilight asks her how did she knew and she replied  "Sometimes you just got to show a little kindness"

After wandering into a darkened area of the forest, the group are frightened by trees carved with scary faces. ( This was Nightmare Moon’s doing.) However, Pinkie just laughed and made funny faces, causing the faices to vanish. Singing a song, Pinkie explained to them that if you laugh your fears will vanish. After laughing for a while, they move on.

Coming to a river, the group encounters a flamboyant sea serpent, deeply upset by having his mustache ruined as a "cloud of tacky, purple smoke" went by and cutting half of it off.( Again, Nightmare Moon did it ) Rarity, angered by this "crime against fabulousity" sympathies with him and cuts off her own tail so that his moustache can be restored. The sea serpent then calms down, allowing the ponies to cross the river on his back.

The castle is barely seen,  but when they encounter a broken bridge, none of them can get across, except Rainbow Dash who flies over to the other side and begins to tie the bridge. Halfway finished, the "Shadowbolts" transformed by Nightmare Moon comes and claims they need a leader. They ask Rainbow Dash to be their leader. Rainbow agreed- except for the part where she could not help her friends. Dash finishes, and the group crosses.

The ponies enter the castle ruins and come to stand in front of several stone orbs perched on a pedestal, which Twilight assumes are the Elements of Harmony. Dash and Fluttershy place them at Twilight's feet, and Pinkie notices there are only five of them. Twilight explains that when the five are present, a spark would cause the sixth to be revealed. The rest of the ponies leave as Twilight tries to use her magic on the orbs, but the purple mist appears and envelops them in a whirlwind. Twilight jumps in and disappears along with the purple mist. The other ponies see glowing lights in another part of the ruins and head to it. Twilight and Nightmare Moon re-appear at opposite ends of a large hall, with the stone orbs around Nightmare Moon. Twilight stamps her hoof and charges at Nightmare Moon, leading her to do the same.






Right before they collide, Twilight disappears, then reappears next to the orbs. She tries to use her magic to create a spark, but Nightmare Moon turns into mist and rematerializes in front of her, and blasts her away from the orbs. For a moment the orbs sparkle and frighten Nightmare Moon, but they soon stop, allowing her to shatter them by stamping on the ground. Pleased with this, Nightmare Moon declares victory, swirling her purple mist around herself. 


Then, Twilight hears her friends calling with reassuring words, and something sparks inside her. She gives Nightmare Moon a speech on the Elements of Harmony, declaring the spirits of the Elements of Harmony are "right here", as the other five ponies arrive behind her. The stone fragments glow and float around each pony as Twilight explains which element each of them represents based on their actions during their journey. Nightmare Moon protests, saying they don't have the sixth element, but Twilight tells her a different kind of spark revealed the sixth element, the spark that she felt when she realized the five other ponies are her friends.

When Twilight concludes the speech, the fragments turn into jewels, and the six ponies glow and float in the air as a rainbow emerges from them and covers Nightmare Moon. Twilight opens her eyes, which floods the room with bright white light. Once the light fades, the ponies discover that Rarity's tail is restored, and that they all have jewelry that matches their cutie marks. 

As the sun rises, Princess Celestia appears and explains that she knew Twilight had the magic to defeat Nightmare Moon, but she could only unleash it by letting true friendship into her heart. They soon see a smaller winged unicorn that was Nightmare Moon before Twilight defeated her. Princess Celestia recognized this pony and  called her Princess Luna, who she was before. She wears a dark blue crown and a coat and mane in a lighter shade of violet and blue. Princess Celestia offers her sister the friendship they were supposed to have all along. Luna accepts the offer and Princess Celestia, happy to see her sister again, she embraces Luna in a tearful reunion.                                                                                                                    

Back in Ponyville, Pinkie throws a party to celebrate the reunion of the two Princesses - but Twilight looks sad. When asked why, Twilight tells Celestia she's sad of leaving her new friends and returning home, so Celestia issues her with a new mission: study the magic of friendship in Ponyville, and report her findings. Twilight is happy about being able to stay with her friends and promises to study harder than ever before.

Twilight Sparkle

For a unicorn who's new to the magic of friendship, Twilight Sparkle gets an "A+." She uses her magical powers to help her friends, and she's always ready to lend a helping hoof. Sometimes she gets on her high horse, but her love for her pals makes her a natural leader.

TWILIGHT SPARKLE-

Dutiful and intelligent, TWILIGHT SPARKLE is obsessed with one thing: studying magic! She once studied so much, she made no time for anypony else. That is until her mentor, PRINCESS CELESTIA, charged her with the study of a special kind of magic--- friendship! Newly converted to the joys of having friends, she uses her knowledge and unusually powerful gift for magical spells to help her new companions in PONYVILLE. Though sometimes she gets on her “high horse” about what’s right or wrong, her eagerness to learn and lend a helping hoof endear her to her new friends in PONYVILLE, and when the going gets tough, her love for her friends transform her into a natural born leader!

Rainbow Dash

Rainbow Dash lives for adventure! Whenever there's a problem that involves danger, distant lands, and mysterious beasts, she's the first to help. She's bold. She's brave. She's also a bit proud and mischievous -- but wouldn't you be too if you were the fastest Pegasus around?   sorry bout this

RAINBOW DASH-

Capable and athletic, RAINBOW DASH lives for adventure! When any problem should arise that involves traveling to distant lands or dealing with a magical, mysterious beast, RAINBOW DASH is the first to volunteer! Brave and bold, anypony who has ever seen this rainbow-haired Pegasus in the air has been left in jaw-dropped awe of her speed, agility, and, well, her confidence. She’s quite positive she’s the fastest pegasus pony alive, and truth be told, she probably is. Yes, she’s a bit proud, and a bit mischievous, and when the chips are down, and danger is a-brewing, RAINBOW DASH always, alwayscomes through, proving time and time again that she is a true hero!

Pinkie Pie

Pinkie Pie is a free spirit who prances to the beat of her own drum. Actually, she prances to the sound of her own singing. She's playful and full of energy. She can talk till the ponies come home. She loves to invent silly songs, giggle, skip, and make her friends laugh.

PINKIE PIE-

To say that PINKIE PIE marches to the beat of her own drum is certainly an understatement! Giggly, playful and brimming over with energy, it’s not unusual to find this pink pony prancing and skipping joyfully through the streets looking for fun, doing cartwheels, singing a song in a silly voice and making up her own ridiculous lyrics. By far the silliest pony around, nothing makes her happier than evoking a giggle and a smile from her friends. She is the freest of free spirits, always acting on her whims, following her heart, talking your ear off and getting a laugh or two along the way.

Applejack

Applejack is a country pony who grew up on her family's apple farm. She's down to earth and dependable, and she's not afraid to get her hooves dirty. To her, any job can be done with a little horse sense and hard work. Applejack has a knack for figuring out how to fix a problem -- fast!

APPLEJACK-

Having grown up working hard to keep her family’s famous apple business growing, APPLEJACK has come to be known as the most down-to-earth, resourceful and dependable pony this side of PONYVILLE! A proud farm pony to the core, she’s not afraid to get her hooves dirty and to her, there’s nothing a little horse-sense and elbow-grease can’t take care of. APPLEJACK has an impeccable ability to break a situation down to its core and fix it fast and usually topped off with a wacky country anecdote told with a charming dose of country twang.

Rarity

With her gleaming white coat and royal purple curls, Rarity is the most beautiful unicorn in Ponyville. And she knows it. After all, heads turn when she prances down the street. A talented fashion designer, Rarity loves to give the other ponies makeovers, and her dream is to design for Princess Celestia.

RARITY-

RARITY could possibly be the most beautiful unicorn you’ve ever seen. As she prances down the street, her coat gleaming pure white and her royal purple curls bouncing, everypony’s head turns--- and boy does she love it! A talented fashion designer, her biggest dream is to one day design for PRINCESS CELESTIA herself. At first glance she may seem a typical debutant, vain and entitled, but it’s simply not so! Generous to a fault, she’s believes so badly that the world should be beautiful she’s all too eager to simply give away the designs she works so hard on and to offer anypony a custom RARITY makeover. And should you make it through one; you’ll learn that RARITY’s greatest beauty is her heart.

Fluttershy

Graceful Fluttershy has a special way with forest animals. Her favorite thing is to care for them in her quiet meadow cottage. That's because Fluttershy is, well ... shy. She's sweet, soft-spoken, and kind of a scaredy-pony. Her friends love her for her kindness, and they work hard to bring her out of her shell.

FLUTTERSHY-

A graceful, fawn-like filly, FLUTTERYSHY’s gentle, serene ways make her unusually attractive to all types of forest animals, whose care and well-being are her highest priority. She’d like nothing more than to spend every waking moment caring for her animal friends in her secluded meadow cottage, and that’s because FLUTTERSHY is, well… shy. Sweet, soft-spoken and often fearful, her pony friends treasure her kindness, but have to work hard to help come out of her shell

[Previously on My Little Pony]

Twilight Sparkle: "Elements of Harmony, see: Mare in the Moon"?
Spike: But that's just an old ponies' tale.

Twilight Sparkle: She will bring about nighttime eternal.

Twilight Sparkle: It's imperative that the princess is told right away.

Twilight Sparkle: See? I knew she would wanna take immediate action.

Spike: My Dear Twilight. There is more to a young pony's life than studying. Make some friends.

Pinkie Pie: [gasp]

Twilight Sparkle: All the ponies in this town are crazy!

Twilight Sparkle: I hope the Princess was right.

Rarity: She's gone.

Twilight Sparkle: Oh no. Nightmare Moon!

Nightmare Moon: [evil laugh]

[theme song]

Nightmare Moon: [laughs]
Mayor: Seize her! Only she knows where the Princess is!
Nightmare Moon: Stand back, you foals! [laughs]
Rainbow Dash: Come back here! [pants] Nighttime? Forever? Where's she going?

Spike: Uh... We gotta stop Nightmare!...
Twilight Sparkle: You've been up all night, Spike. You are a baby dragon after all. Elements, elements, elements... Ugh! How can I stop the Nightmare Moon without the Elements of Harmony?
Rainbow Dash: And just what are the Elements of Harmony? And how did you know about Nightmare Moon, huh? Are you a spy? Whoa!
Applejack: Simmer down, Sally. She ain't no spy. But she sure knows what's going on. Don't you, Twilight?
Twilight Sparkle: I read all about the prediction of Nightmare Moon. Some mysterious objects called the Elements of Harmony are the only things that can stop her, but I don't know what they are, where to find them, I don't even know what they do!
Pinkie Pie: "The Elements of Harmony: A Reference Guide."
Twilight Sparkle: How did you find that?!
Pinkie Pie: It was under "E"!
Twilight Sparkle: Oh. There are six Elements of Harmony, but only five are known: Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Honesty and Loyalty. The sixth is a complete mystery. It is said, the last known location of the five elements was in the ancient castle of the royal pony sisters. It is located in what is now--

Everypony: The Everfree Forest!
Pinkie Pie: Whee! Let's go!
Twilight Sparkle: Not so fast. Look, I appreciate the offer, but I'd really rather do this on my own.
Applejack: No can do, sugar cube. We sure ain't lettin' any friend of ours go into that creepy place alone. We're stickin' to you like caramel on a candy apple.
Pinkie Pie: Especially if there's candy apples in there. What? Those things are good.

Twilight Sparkle: [sigh] So none of you have been in here before?
Rarity: Heavens no! Just look at it - it's dreadful.
Applejack: And it ain't natural. Folk say it don't work the same as Equestria.
Twilight Sparkle: What's that supposed to mean?
Rainbow Dash: Nopony knows. You know why?
Applejack: Rainbow, quit it.
Rainbow Dash: 'cause every pony who's ever come in, has never come OUT.
[scream]
Rainbow Dash: Fluttershy! Quick!
Fluttershy: Oh my goodness, oh my goodness.
[Pinkie Pie screams]
Applejack: Hold on! I'm a-comin'!
Twilight Sparkle: Applejack! What do I do?
Applejack: Let go.
Twilight Sparkle: Are you crazy?
Applejack: No I ain't. I promise you'll be safe.
Twilight Sparkle: That's not true!
Applejack: Now listen here. What I'm sayin' to you is the honest truth. Let go, and you'll be safe.
Twilight Sparkle: [screams] Phew.
Fluttershy: Sorry girls. I'm not used to holding anything more than a bunny or two.
[Animal roars]

Rainbow Dash: And once Pinkie and Rarity were saved, Whoosh... Me and Fluttershy loop-de-loop around and WHAM! Caught you right in the nick of time.
Twilight Sparkle: Yes, Rainbow, I was there, and I'm very grateful, but we gotta-- [gasp] A manticore!
Manticore: [roar]
Twilight Sparkle: We've gotta get past him!
Rarity: Take that, you ruffian!
Manticore: [roar]
Rarity: My hair! Woop--
Fluttershy: Wait.
Applejack: YEE-HAW! Get along, little doggie.
Fluttershy: Wait.
Applejack: Whoa! All yours, partner.
Rainbow Dash: I'm on it.
Fluttershy: Wait!
Twilight Sparkle: Rainbow!
Fluttershy: WAIT! Shhh... It's okay. Oh, you poor, poor little baby.
Rainbow Dash: Little?
Fluttershy: Now this might hurt for just a second.
Everypony: Fluttershy!
Fluttershy: [giggles] Aw you're just a little ol' baby kitty, aren't you? Yes you are, yes you are.
Twilight Sparkle: How did you know about the thorn?
Fluttershy: I didn't. Sometimes we all just need to be shown a little kindness.

Rarity: Eugh. My eyes need a rest from all this icky muck. Well, I didn't mean that literally.
Twilight Sparkle: That ancient ruin could be right in front of our faces and we wouldn't even know it.
Rarity: I didn't see you there, my apology.
Rainbow Dash: Right here... guh...
Applejack: Oh wait, I think I stepped in something.
Fluttershy: [scream]
Applejack: It's just mud. Ahh!
[screams]
Pinkie Pie: [laughter] Bleh. Ooo! [funny noises]
Twilight Sparkle: Pinkie, what are you doing?! Run!
Pinkie Pie: Oh girls, don't you see?

When I was a little filly and the sun was going down

Twilight Sparkle: Tell me she's not...

The darkness and the shadows, they would always make me frown

Rarity: She is.

I'd hide under my pillow from what I thought I saw

But Granny Pie said that wasn't the way to deal with fears at all

Rainbow Dash: Then what is?

She said: Pinkie, you gotta stand up tall, learn to face your fears

You'll see that they can't hurt you, just laugh to make them disappear

Pinkie Pie: HA HA HA! [ponies gasp]

So, giggle at the ghostly

Guffaw at the grossly

Crack up at the creepy

Whoop it up with the weepy

Chortle at the kooky

Snortle at the spooky

Pinkie Pie: And tell that big dumb scary face to take a hike and leave you alone and if he thinks he can scare you then he's got another thing coming and the very idea of such a thing just makes you wanna... HAHAHAHA...heh...

LAAAUGH!

[laughter]

Pinkie Pie: How are we gonna cross this?
[distant cry]
Pinkie Pie: Huh?
Sea serpent: [sobbing] What a world, what a world.
Twilight Sparkle: Excuse me, sir. Why are you crying?
Sea serpent: Well, I don't know. I was just sitting here, minding my own business, when this tacky little cloud of purple smoke just whisked past me and tore half of my beloved mustache clean off, and now I look simply horrid.
Rainbow Dash: Oh, gimme a break.
Applejack: That's what all the fuss is about?
Rarity: Why, of course it is. How can you be so insensitive? Oh, just look at him. Such lovely luminescent scales.
Sea serpent: [sniffs] I know.
Rarity: And your expertly coiffed mane.
Sea serpent: Oh, I know, I know.
Rarity: Your fabulous manicure.
Sea serpent: [gasp] It's so true!
Rarity: All ruined without your beautiful mustache.
Sea serpent: It's true, I'm hideous!
Rarity: I simply cannot let such a crime against fabulosity go uncorrected.
Sea serpent: [yelp] What did you do that for?
Twilight Sparkle: Rarity, what are you--
Sea serpent: [moans] Oh-hohohoho! My mustache. How wonderful.
Rarity: You look smashing.
Twilight Sparkle: Oh, Rarity, your beautiful tail...
Rarity: Oh. It's fine, my dear. Short tails are in this season. Besides, it'll grow back.
Rainbow Dash: So would the mustache.
Twilight Sparkle: [gasp] We can cross now. Let's go. Ah!
Sea serpent: Allow me.

Twilight Sparkle: There it is, the ruin that holds The Elements of Harmony. We made it.
Applejack: Twilight, wait for us.
Twilight Sparkle: We're almost there. Whoa!
Rainbow Dash: What's with you and falling off cliffs today?
Pinkie Pie: Now what?
Rainbow Dash: Duh.
Pinkie Pie: Oh yeah.
Voice: Rainbow... Rainbow...
Rainbow Dash: Who's there? I ain't scared of you! Show yourself!
Voice: We've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the best flyer in Equestria.
Rainbow Dash: Who?
Voice: Why, you, of course.
Rainbow Dash: Really?! I mean... Oh yeah, me. Hey, uh, you wouldn't mind telling the Wonderbolts that, would ya? 'cause I've been trying to get into that group for like, ever.
Voice: No, Rainbow Dash. We want you to join us, The Shadowbolts.
Shadowbolt: We're the greatest aerial team in the Everfree Forest, and soon we will be the greatest in all Equestria, but first, we need a captain. The most magnificent--
Rainbow Dash: Yep.
Shadowbolt: Swiftest--
Rainbow Dash: Yes.
Shadowbolt: Bravest flyer in all the land.
Rainbow Dash: Yes, [chuckle] it's all true.
Shadowbolt: We need... you.
Rainbow Dash: WOOHOO! Sign me up. Just let me tie this bridge real quick and then we have a deal.
Shadowbolt: No! It's them or us.
Twilight Sparkle: Rainbow, what's taking so long? Oh no. Rainbow! Don't listen to them.
Shadowbolt: Well?
Rainbow Dash: You... Thank you! For the offer, I mean, but I'm afraid I have to say no.

Rainbow Dash: See? I'd never leave my friends hanging.

Applejack: Whoa. Come on, Twilight. Isn't this what you've been waitin' for?
Twilight Sparkle: The Elements of Harmony, we've found them. Careful, careful!
Pinkie Pie: One, two, three, four... There's only five!
Rainbow Dash: Where's the sixth?
Twilight Sparkle: The book said: when the five are present, a spark will cause the sixth Element to be revealed.
Applejack: What in the hay is that supposed to mean?
Twilight Sparkle: I'm not sure, but I have an idea. Stand back. I don't know what will happen.
Applejack: Come on now, y'all. She needs to concentrate.

Twilight Sparkle: Aah!
Everypony: Twilight!
Twilight Sparkle: The Elements!
[All five ponies talking over each other: Fluttershy: Twilight? Applejack: What? Rarity: Where did she go? Pinkie Pie: What happened? Rainbow Dash: What's going on?]

Applejack: Twilight, Where are you?
Rarity: Look!
Applejack: Come on!
Nightmare Moon: [evil laugh]
Twilight Sparkle: [gasp]
Nightmare Moon: You're kidding. You're kidding, right?
Twilight Sparkle: [groan] Just one spark. Come on, come on. Aah!
Nightmare Moon: No, no!
Twilight Sparkle: [gasp] But... where's the sixth Element?!
Nightmare Moon: [laughter] You little foal! Thinking you could defeat me? Now you will never see your princess, or your sun! The night will last forever! [evil laugh]
[All five ponies talking over each other: Pinkie Pie: Don't worry Twilight, we're here. Applejack: Don't worry, we'll be there.]
Twilight Sparkle: [gasp] You think you can destroy The Elements of Harmony just like that? Well, you're wrong, because the spirits of The Elements of Harmony are right here.
Nightmare Moon: What?
Twilight Sparkle: Applejack, who reassured me when I was in doubt, represents the spirit of... honesty!
Twilight Sparkle: Fluttershy, who tamed the manticore with her compassion, represents the spirit of... kindness!
Twilight Sparkle: Pinkie Pie, who banished fear by giggling in the face of danger, represents the spirit of...laughter!
Twilight Sparkle: Rarity, who calmed a sorrowful serpent with a meaningful gift represents the spirit of...generosity!
Twilight Sparkle: And Rainbow Dash, who could not abandon her friends for her own heart's desire represents the spirit of... loyalty!
Twilight Sparkle: The spirits of these five ponies got us through every challenge you threw at us.
Nightmare Moon: You still don't have the sixth Element! The spark didn't work!
Twilight Sparkle: But it did! A different kind of spark. I felt it the very moment I realized how happy I was to hear you, to see you, how much I cared about you. The spark ignited inside me when I realized that you all -- are myfriends. You see, Nightmare Moon, when those Elements are ignited by the... the spark, that resides in the heart of us all, it creates the sixth element: the element of... magic.
Nightmare Moon: NOOO! Nooo!
Rainbow Dash: Ugh, my head.
Applejack: Everypony okay?
Rarity: Oh, thank goodness.
Fluttershy: Why Rarity, it's so lovely.
Rarity: I know! I'll never part with it again.
Fluttershy: No. Your necklace. It looks just like your cutie mark.
Rarity: Ooh. So does yours.
Fluttershy: [gasp] Pinkie Pie: Look at mine! Look at mine!
Rainbow Dash: Aw yeah.
Applejack: Gee, Twilight! I thought you were just speaking a lot of hooey, but I reckon we really do represent the elements of friendship.
Princess Celestia: Indeed you do.
Twilight Sparkle: Princess Celestia.
Princess Celestia: Twilight Sparkle, my faithful student. I knew you could do it.
Twilight Sparkle: But... you told me it was all an old pony tale.
Princess Celestia: I told you that you needed to make some friends, nothing more. I saw the signs of Nightmare Moon's return and I knew it was you who had the magic inside to defeat her, but you could not unleash it until you let true friendship into your heart. Now if only another will as well. Princess Luna.
Princess Luna: [gasp]
Princess Celestia: It has been a thousand years since I have seen you like this. Time to put our differences behind us. We were meant to rule together, little sister.
Everypony: Sister?
Princess Celestia: Will you accept my friendship?
Pinkie Pie: Whoa!
Princess Luna: I'm so sorry! I missed you so much, big sister!
Princess Celestia: I've missed you, too.
Pinkie Pie: [blows her nose] [sobs] Hey, you know what this calls for?

Pinkie Pie: A party!
[music and cheering ponies]
Princess Celestia: Why so glum, my faithful student? Are you not happy that your quest is complete and you can return to your studies in Canterlot?
Twilight Sparkle: That's just it. Just when I learned how wonderful it is to have friends, I have to leave them.
Princess Celestia: Spike, take a note, please. I, Princess Celestia, hereby decree that the unicorn Twilight Sparkle shall take on a new mission for Equestria. She must continue to study the magic of friendship. She must report to me her findings from her new home in Ponyville.
[ponies cheer]
Twilight Sparkle: Oh thank you, Princess Celestia! I'll study harder than ever before.
[ponies cheer]

Pinkie Pie: Isn't this exciting? [gasp] are you excited cause I'm excited I've never been so excited, well, except for the time that I went [gasp] but I mean really--
